Bhagat Singh text not clear: Minister of Education clarification
Education Minister B Sreejith accused the RSS founder Hedgewar of omitting lessons from the freedom fighter Bhagat Singh from the book. C. Nagesh clarified.
Some have objected to Hedgewar's speech in the textbook. There is no question of removing it. The book has already gone into print. That said, it is necessary for young minds to embrace the ideology of stirring rather than merely taking the ideal of individuals.
Bhagat Singh has not left the text: It is false that Bhagat Singh's content has been removed from the textbooks, with some opting to add their own theory to the textbooks, he said.
The committee was appointed under the chairmanship of Rohit Chakrathirth to review the sensitive issues in the social sciences and language textbooks. The committee has revised the social science textbooks from class 6 to 10 and the Kannada language textbook from class 1 to 10.
The news that Bhagat Singh had dropped his prose in the 10th standard Kannada text book and added the prose to Hedgewar was far from the truth. In fact, 'Bhagat Singh' has not abandoned the prose. The Department of Education said the revised 10th Class First Language Kannada textbook is still in print.
